Q. How far are you from 30th Street Amtrak Station?
A.We are less than one mile from 30th Street Station, which is about a $6 cab ride. Also accessible by public transportation, the #31 bus, the #10 trolley, or the Market-Frankfurt subway. For more information please see our Parking & Getting Around tab and visit septa.org.
Q. How far are you from the Bolt and Megabus Terminals?
A. These buses stop on JFK Blvd at 30th Street across from the station, see above.
Q. How far are you from the PA Convention Center?
A. We are 2.5 miles from the convention center. Bus #31 and #10 trolley stop 1 block from our inn and make the trip in 10 minutes. Also accessible by the Market-Frankfurt subway at 34th and Market streets. Please see septa.org for more information.
A. Yes. They are both located in our University City neighborhood and many parents and students stay with us when visiting.
Q. How far are you from The National Board of Medical Examiners?
A. We are in walking distance of The National Board of Medical Examiners, located at 36th and Market streets. Please visit their site for more information.
Q. How close are the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Barnes Foundation and The Rodin Museum?
A. They are less than 1 mile from us. Please see our Location Tab for more information.
Q. Do you have private bathrooms?
A. Yes we do! All of our rooms have private bathrooms. Set-ups within the bathrooms vary. For example, some rooms have a shower but other rooms have both a shower and a bath. Within the Rooms tab (above), you can see what each room’s bathroom includes so that there is no guessing when you are booking a room.
Q. Is there parking available?
A. Yes, parking is available. There is free parking on the street between the times of 10:00AM and 4:00PM. We also have two parking spaces available in our driveway on a first come first serve basis. For more information, please visit our Parking & Getting Around tab (above).
Q. What does breakfast include?
A. Breakfast includes continental plus foods: breads, baked goods, fresh fruit, an array of cereals, oatmeal, coffee, tea, and among other items. Please visit our Breakfast tab (above) to read more about your breakfast experience.
Q. Can I invite friends or family to eat breakfast with me even though they are not staying at Spruce Hill Manor?
A. Yes, conditionally. You may bring your company to eat breakfast at no extra cost but please make sure to let staff know about the extra guests as you may need to check if there will be enough seating to accommodate them. Many of times Spruce Hill Manor is fully booked and we will need to seat overnight night guests for breakfast before outside visitors.
Q. What kinds of amenities do you have?
A. In every room there is a hairdryer, shampoo, soap, extra blankets and towels, air-conditioning and heaters, maps of Philadelphia, glassware, silverware, dishes, microwave, mini fridge, Direct TV, free Wi-Fi, clock/radio, toiletries, iron and ironing board. The dining room is also open 24/7 so guests may help themselves at any time to snacks throughout their stay.
Q. Do you accommodate guests who need an extended stay?
A. Yes, per special request. We have had several guests stay for longer periods and we loved having them at the manor. Potential guests wishing to stay at Spruce Hill Manor for an extended period of time will consult with Janet Reitano, Owner. Please feel free to reach her at 215-472-2213 for further information.
Q. Do you have a cancelation policy?
A. Yes. When a reservation for major events such as conventions, graduation, sporting events, etc. is canceled prior to 30 days before your stay you will be charged a $35 dollar service fee and then the balance of your deposit will be returned to you. However, if a reservation is canceled with less than a 30 days’ notice, your deposit will be non-refundable and you may be charged the full amount eqaul to the reservation. For regular stays, a five day notice is requried in order to receive the rest of your depsosit after the $35 service fee and the same applies for charges if not notified within this time period. Reducing the number of nights of stay and/or the number of rooms reserved is considered a cancellation. Standard policy is subject to change during high season and on major weekends. Rates are subject to change without notice.
Q. Is Spruce Hill Manor fit for young children?
A. No. Spruce Hill Manor is not a child-proof environment and we don't feel children will be comfortable in our more formal environment. So for the safety and comfort of our guests we are happy to accept children 12 years of age and older. Thank you for your understanding.
Q. Does Spruce Hill Manor have any meeting or banquet space?
A. No. We have the dining room for breakfast and snacks and a small sitting room, which are available to all guests as common areas. However, we do not have any meeting or banquet rooms for rent or use.
